Band Pull-Apart

Upper body Beginner

A light resistance-band move that strengthens the rear delts and upper back, countering rounded-shoulder posture.

How to do a Band Pull-Apart

  1. Stand tall with feet hip-width and grip a band with both hands, arms out in front at shoulder height.
  2. Keep your arms nearly straight and brace your core.
  3. Pull your hands apart and out to the sides, stretching the band across your chest.
  4. Squeeze your shoulder blades together firmly at the end.
  5. Return slowly to the start under control and repeat.
