Chin-Up

Upper body Advanced

An underhand-grip hanging pull that recruits the biceps more heavily than the pull-up while still hammering the lats.

How to do a Chin-Up

  1. Grip the bar with palms facing you, hands about shoulder-width apart.
  2. Hang with arms straight and shoulders set down and back.
  3. Pull with your back and biceps until your chin rises above the bar.
  4. Lower under control to a full hang.
  5. Keep your core braced to prevent swinging.
