Core Beginner

A short-range spinal flexion that isolates the upper abdominals by curling the ribs toward the pelvis.

How to do a Crunch

  1. Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
  2. Rest your hands lightly behind your head or across your chest.
  3. Brace your abs and curl your shoulder blades up off the floor.
  4. Keep your chin off your chest and avoid pulling on your neck.
  5. Lower slowly to the start without fully relaxing your abs.
