Jump Rope

Full body Beginner

A skipping drill that builds cardio endurance, coordination, and calf strength with a light, efficient bounce.

How to do a Jump Rope

  1. Hold a handle in each hand with the rope behind your heels.
  2. Keep elbows close to your sides and turn the rope using your wrists, not your arms.
  3. Hop just high enough to clear the rope, landing softly on the balls of your feet.
  4. Keep your knees slightly bent and your core engaged.
  5. Find a steady rhythm; jog in place to mime it if you have no rope.
