A side-to-side lunge that builds strength in the frontal plane and opens up the hips, inner thighs, and glutes.

How to do a Lateral Lunge

  1. Stand tall with feet together and toes pointing forward.
  2. Take a wide step out to one side.
  3. Push the hips of the stepping leg back and bend that knee.
  4. Keep the trailing leg straight and both feet flat on the floor.
  5. Lower until you feel a stretch in the inner thigh, chest up.
  6. Push off the bent leg to return to center and switch sides.
