Cossack Squat

Legs Intermediate

A deep lateral squat that shifts weight side to side to build mobility, single-leg strength, and inner-thigh control.

How to do a Cossack Squat

  1. Stand with feet much wider than shoulder-width, toes forward.
  2. Shift your weight onto one leg and bend that knee, sitting back.
  3. Let the straight leg's foot rotate up onto its heel, toes up.
  4. Keep the squatting heel down and your torso as upright as you can.
  5. Descend as far as your mobility allows with control.
  6. Push back to center and shift to the other side.
