A push-up with hands set wide to bias the chest and shoulders through a broader pressing path.

How to do a Wide Push-Up

  1. Take a high plank with hands noticeably wider than shoulder-width.
  2. Brace your core and keep your body in one straight line.
  3. Bend your elbows out and down to lower your chest toward the floor.
  4. Press firmly through your palms back to the start.
  5. Avoid flaring elbows past 90 degrees to protect the shoulders.
