How to do a Half Burpee
- Start in a high plank with hands under your shoulders.
- Jump both feet forward to land near your hands in a low squat.
- Keep your chest up as the feet land.
- Jump the feet straight back out to the plank position.
- Keep alternating in and out at a brisk, controlled tempo.
Keep in mind
- Hold the plank line — the hips do not rise as the feet come in.
- Jump the feet all the way to your hands, not halfway.
- Keep the hands planted and the shoulders over the wrists.
- Find a rhythm rather than sprinting the first ten.
Common mistakes
- The hips piking up on every jump — slow down and hold the plank.
- The feet landing short, so you cannot stand — jump them right up to your hands.
- Sprinting the first few and then stalling — pick a pace you can finish on.
Breathing
Breathe out as the feet come in, in as they go back.
Take care
Wrist- and shoulder-heavy at speed — drop the pace before the form, and step the feet instead of jumping if the wrists complain.
